AirPlay2 Wireless FM Transmitter For The iPod The Rev. Nov 7th

Airplay2 Wireless Ipod Fm TransmitterI’ve got to admit these new wireless FM transmitters for the iPod look pretty cool. I currently use Monster’s iCarPlay (Aff.) to listen to my iPod in the car, but on more than one occasion I’ve wished I could take my transmitter out of the car and use it to send my music to a boombox or home stereo. With XtremeMac’s AirPlay2 you can do just that – broadcast your iPod tracks to any component that plays FM radio…excellent for sharing your favorite music with your friends, and at just about any location.

Of course, you don’t get the benefit of having your iPod charged at the same time (like most of the FM transmitters meant for your car offer,) but you sure get a lot more freedom of movement…and let’s face it, we we’re born to be free, right?!

Here’s a bit from the XtremeMac Web Site–

AirPlay2 has sleek looks to match its superior performance. It’s as thin and narrow as the iPod nano and features three programmable station presets that allow you to conveniently recall your clearest transmission frequencies. AirPlay2 also has a mono mode for better reception in crowded radio markets, and a large, bright display for easy viewing, day or night.

AirPlay2 draws its energy from the iPod and uses a minimal amount of power, which allows for hours of playback time. It connects to the iPod through its Dock Connector and features an additional pass-though female Dock Connector for connecting chargers-enabling you to operate and charge the iPod at the same time!

Depending on your needs, this could be the perfect FM transmitter for you, but if you’re only going to need FM transmission in your car I’d check out some of the iPod-recharging offerings…it really just depends on your needs!
